"Lets go swimming...."

"Yeah..." the screams were loud and long.... Bags were packed and off we went! The weather here today has been terrible. So cold, grey and rainy that outdoor activities were not what we felt like. Must say the screams of joy when the princess and little man were told we would go swimming instead, were delightful!



"1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10..... Please come up now!" She did, the princess, she loves diving and swims better completely under water!

"You're welcome"

The little man and the princess still have so much Easter chocolate left. The little man is not keen on the posh chocolate (Thornton's) but lucky for the mummy and daddy, he is very generous! He gave us these lovely chocolates today when asked which chocolate he wanted after dinner...


He went for some chocolate buttons which he consumed in no time.... Obviously you get very thirsty eating chocolate so a whole glass of water was needed afterwards!

Mr Men's new additions!

By the princess, the little man and the daddy that is! It was the princess' idea as we by now have read all our Mr Men (and little Miss) books. I guess she felt we needed some new and more hmmm... scary characters! Well, here's the princess' new addition....

The Daddy's might not be scary, then again... All that hair is a bit freaky!

Stories have yet to be written, maybe more characters will be added. We'll have to wait and see...

And now it's finally gone....

It's the little man's temperature I'm talking about. This morning it had been gone 24 hours so nursery here we come.... The little man was so ready as well, he has missed his little friends!

The weekend was lovely and relaxed even though the little man wasn't well. Sunday afternoon we went to celebrate our nephew/cousin's Confimation. Lovely speeches, fantastic food and great company. The princess and little man were on their best behavior. When a bit bored at the table, a little break on one of the sofa's playing the princess's DS, was needed.

The hall where the Confirmation was on Sunday, is where we're having our wedding. We saw how big the tables are, how many can sit at it etc. Looks like we have got the seating plan just right. We have most things sorted now but I'm sure we'll have forgotten one or two things as we get nearer to the date....

It was more than just a temperature....

A terrible cough and a sore throat has come sneakily during the night. The little man was coughing most of the night leaving him with a husky voice this morning. He has also started complaining about a sore throat.... I spoke too early on Friday thinking it was just a temperature!!
He's a little champion though, happily playing with his glazed over eyes, chatting away with a little husky voice.

He's fast asleep now (asked to be put to bed...) and I hope he gets a less disturbed night (and me...) How did I cope when they were babies and didn't sleep through? A night with broken sleep, when you're not used to it anymore, have left me feeling like I have a hangover.... Needing fatty food, sweets, crisps and drinking coke. Or maybe I'm just using it as an excuse to be allowed a day of unhealthy food....

Just a temperature....

That's what the little man has. He is not coughing or has a runny nose. Just a temperature... He's happy enough, plays with his toys but just has these "glazed over" eyes. So no nursery today...
But some nice chilling out time with mummy watching Robin Hood.

A whole other thing... Yesterday one of the second hand stores had 50% off. Thought I'd check it out and look what I found, hardly used, for £8.



Both the princess and little man were thrilled with their 'new' things... Surely they must learn to love second hand stores like their mummy does, when they're old enough!

Well after years of oddparent begging me to enlighten the world with my knowledge, I decided to agree! 

We had a conversation the other night where I told her about the phenomenon of 'Six degrees of separation' which is the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away from any other person on Earth.

This idea sounds ridiculous at first, but as an example, I am just 3 steps away from Queen Elizabeth II.  I met someone yesterday who has met the Queen of Denmark, who in turn knows Queen Elizabeth II.  And how about this: I am 4 steps away from Brad Pitt (much to the hapiness and joy of oddparent!).  My best friend knew Chris Martin from Coldplay before his fame, who is married to Gwyneth Paltrow, who was engaged to Brad Pitt!

My ultimate connection is Me to Diego Maradona (the greatest footballer of all time... after me!). 5 steps! I went to school with a guy who knew John Hartson, who played with Tony Adams, who played with and against Gary Lineker who... yes you guessed it, played on the same pitch when Maradona did this:

 

What a genius!  And Maradona was ok too ;-)

A burning ring of fire.....

As we do nearly every dinnertime, we were listening to music yesterday. The Ipod just play songs randomly, the little man's favourite song comes on. Johnny Cash, Ring of fire. Yes, I know... not the most obvious choice for a 4 year old but a good one though!!
The chorus starts like this "I fell into a burning ring of fire".
The little man shakes his head (in disbelief) and says:

"If I fell into a ring if fire I would die!"

He continues to eat his dinner!

We're back home and Easter is over.....

Well, kind of because look at all these Easter Eggs the princess and little man have brought back from Nana and Papa's. This year we could bring them all back in the car. Only just though as the car was packed to the rafters!


Again we had a lovely time on the boat, going back home to Denmark. We relaxed in the cabin, drinking tea, reading, watching movies on the computer and playing Super Mario Brothers!


We went outside to wave goodbye to England. We'll be back at Christmas! Then to the play area where the princess reluctantly let the little man drive first....


Today it was back to reality! School, nursery, work and a big pile of holiday laundry.....!

England here we are...

A bit of wind made the boat rock a bit but we slept from it all. The princess and little man were very excited as were the daddy and I!



Today was shopping day...!! Tomorrow we're off to London to the science museum and to visit some good friends.
